Take Me To The Movies: Greta, Leaving Neverland

“Greta”

A story of obsession but from what I’m hearing, it’s no “Single White Female”- the Bridget Fonda, Jason Leigh thriller from 25 years ago. Chloe Grace Moretz stars as the naïve young woman trying to make it on her own in NYC. She finds a handbag on the subway and returns it to a piano teacher played by the acclaimed French actress Isabelle Huppert (who was nominated for a “Best Actress” Oscar for 2016’s ‘Elle’). I’m hearing it’s a bad movie with two very good actors. Rotten Tomatoes gives it 58%.

“Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral”

This will be Tyler Perry’s the 11th (!!!) Madea movie. Perry supposedly wants to do something new so this is being billed as the character’s finale.

“Leaving Neverland”

This must see documentary premieres in two parts on HBO this Sunday & Monday night. Journalist turned director Dan Reed presents an explosive story, meticulously exposing Michael Jackson’s long alleged predatory behavior with minors. The Jackson estate has already sued HBO for $100 million, even though no one from the family has even seen it yet. Reed will also be my guest on “Sonstein Sunday” at 7AM this weekend.
